Donald Ray Glenn Obituary

Donald Ray Glenn was born on July 9, 1936, to George Nelson Glenn and Helen Grace Tutten Glenn in Anadarko, Oklahoma. He married the love of his life, Bernadine Glenn, on April 1, 1959.

Don dedicated his life to the grocery industry, managing Safeway stores in Duncan and Oklahoma City. He later worked for Tyler & Simpson Company and Hale-Halsell wholesalers, retiring in Durant, Oklahoma.

Don was a 32nd degree Mason for over 67 years. He was also a Gideon and served as a Deacon at First Baptist Church in Durant.

He was surrounded by many who loved him deeply and whose lives he shaped and influenced in profound ways. Don was devoted to God and his family and lived his life with dignity, kindness, and respect for others. He believed in working hard and treating people well, leaving an indelible mark on everyone he met. His absence will leave a void that can only be partially filled by the many fond memories.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bernadine; his son, Larry Coffey; and his sister, Joan Acton.

He is survived by his daughters, Janet McCauley and husband Jim, and Donna Loper and husband Ed; his two brothers James (Bud) Glenn and David Glenn, and wife Terry; and his grandchildren, Kristen Barrante and husband Justin, Ryan Coffey and wife Holly, Lindsey McCarty and husband Kyle, Brad Loper and wife Courtney, and Randal Coffey. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren: Aniston, Aiden, Lexi, Hayden, Avery, Jude and Cambria, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He had many special friends, including his coffee shop buddies and Sunday School class. Special thanks for the loving care he received from Peggy Yandell and Centric Hospice. Donald will be remembered fondly by all his family and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, February 1, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home Chapel, 121 N. 5th, Durant, Oklahoma. A funeral service honoring Don will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 2, 2026 at the First Baptist Church of Durant, officiated by Brother Garry McNeill. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma.
