James
Robinson became the Pastor of First Baptist Church of Durant
in June, 1999. A native Oklahoman, he has been in vocational ministry since
1968, having served in churches in Oklahoma, Florida, Texas
and New Mexico. James received his bachelor's degree from
Oklahoma
Baptist University in 1972 and his masters of divinity
from Southwestern Baptist Seminary in 1982. He and his wife, Judy, are the parents of three adult children; Jayme Wood and her husband Randy; Joni Smith and her husband Jeremy; Justin and his wife Jaci. They are also grandparents to Madison Abigail Smith (2005) and Elizabeth Grace Smith (2008). His
hobbies include watching sports, golf , reading and enjoying his family. Bro. James'
calling is to preach and teach the riches of God's word;
to motivate God's people to worship Him personally and
corportately; to equip the saints of God to do the work
of ministry; to help build strong families and according
to Ephesians 4:15 "to speak the truth in love."

Philip Stephens joined the staff of First Baptist Church as Associate Pastor in September of 2005. After responding to God’s call to vocational ministry in 1981, he has served churches in McAlester, Ada, and Bixby Oklahoma serving in the areas of music, youth and education. A graduate of McAlester High School in 1981 Philip received his bachelor’s degree from S.O.S.U. in 1985.
Philip married Laura Gold of Durant and they have three children: Kyle, Stephanie, and Natalie. His hobbies include playing sports, watching college football, snow skiing, and music. Philip’s passion in ministry is in defending the Scripture as the authoritative word of God in which we can find purpose, direction, and meaning in life.

Garry McNeill joined our staff in September of 2005. Garry previously served as the youth minister and associate pastor at the First Baptist Church in Cherokee, OK. He served in Cherokee beginning in the summer of 1997 before moving to Durant. In December of 2002, Garry and Heather McNeill were married. They enjoy spending time with their two daughters, Haley Abigail (born March, 2006) and Reeslyn Avery (born March, 2008). He graduated high school in Garber, OK in 1995 and then received his degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, OK in the field of Mass Communications in 1999. He graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts degree in Christian Education in May, 2007.
He enjoys spending time with his girls and playing and watching all sports.
Ken Bartholomew has served as Minister of Music since December, 2003. Ken has been in full time ministry since 1987 serving churches in Texas. A native of North Carolina, Ken received his undergraduate degree in music from Houston Baptist University and a master's degree in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
He and his wife Deana have two children, Adam and Alyssa. Ken's hobbies include hunting, fishing, golf, ping pong, softball (sports in general!), reading, and of course music.
Chris Pappas was added to the FBC staff and family in February 2007 as Children’s Pastor. Originally from North Florida, Pastor Chris is an honors graduate from Florida Baptist Theological College and attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served churches in Florida, Texas and Kansas in administrative and children’s ministries, as well as serving in the business community in management positions for global and local business corporations. He brings an incredible vision and passion for children to Durant and is eager to develop a 21st century ministry with a 1st century message. He is nowhere happier than in his home with his beautiful wife of 17 years, Jeni, his four children, Bethany, Jordan, Sarah and Faith, and their golden retriever, Ruegar.

Joey Gosnell joined the church staff in September, 2003 as the Technical Media Director. He graduated from SOSU with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. Joey, and his wife Carrie,assistant principal at the Durant Intermediate School, both enjoy living in Durant and raising their daughters Rylee and Parker. His desire is to expand the range of programming on FBC-TV to be able to reach everyone in the community.
