The medical mission opened August 31, 1999. We want to provide medical care to people who couldn't get it otherwise. We currently have over thirty active volunteers, most of whom serve on a rotating basis. We have one D.O., two M.D.s, two Physician’s Assistants, one Nurse Practitioner, one Optometrist, six nurses and one medical assistant. We sometimes have 6-8 nursing students from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Financial support and the facility are provided by First Baptist Church, but our services are open to the entire community.

Operation is much like a regular doctor’s office. Clients call in on Monday after 1:00 pm and are assigned a time to be seen that night. The doors open at 5:30 PM.

We see people who have no other means of assistance, i.e. insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, Indian assistance, etc. Medication is provided as needed through the Patient Assistance Programs offered by Pharmaceutical Companies, or at cost from a local pharmacy.
