who is Jesus? A prophet, religious leader, good man, moral teacher?
Many people over the ages have wondered the same thing. The truth is Jesus Christ was and is so much more than this. We know:
- Jesus Christ is the Son of the one true God, our Heavenly Father in Heaven who created all things and loves us unconditionally.
- Every man has chosen to reject God, and thus sinned against Him. Sin has a penalty, death; so God sent His Son, Jesus, to earth to die for our sins on our behalf and give us eternal life.
- Jesus came to earth, was crucified on a cross, and rose to life again.
- Only those who believe in Jesus and confess Him as Lord of their life can partake of this free gift of salvation and live forever with God.
- Jesus is the ONLY way to be saved. Nothing men or women can do apart from believe in Him will save them.
- Jesus is the cornerstone of our faith. Without His sacrifice on the cross and resurrection from the grave, our faith would be meaningless.
- God sent His Holy Spirit to live in our hearts and be our guide. Also, the Bible is the infallible Word of God. We follow the teachings of Jesus and try to do what He asks us to. Still, no one is perfect and we continue to sin, but our sins are forgiven.
- Jesus came not only to give us eternal life, but an abundant life here on earth. Because of Him, we have vision, purpose, passion, and true love.
- Jesus sits at the right hand of God in Heaven, and will someday return to rescue His children--those who believe in Him and have called upon Him for salvation.
- Jesus loves YOU and came to die for YOU. He wants you to believe in Him and call upon Him, so He can give you the free gift of an abundant and eternal life.
