College Ministry
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
– 2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV
“I was walking in darkness as a young married man, and the Spirit of God opened my heart and mind to receive The Gospel. God was gracious enough to surround me with brothers in Christ who faithfully preached the whole counsel of God’s word and disciple me with great patience. These brothers were very involved in the BCM community and the local church. I quickly came to true faith and repentance and I have been walking in obedience by the power of God’s Holy Spirit ever since. I love God’s Word, and I sing with great joy and adoration because Jesus lives. I have been involved in worship and college ministry since I was saved. God has continually stirred my heart to support Southeastern’s BCM, as well as teaching First Baptist Church of Durant’s college ministry under our College Pastor’s authority. My family and I genuinely sense God’s calling to support collegiate ministry.” – Clifford Cox
Our Program
We gather together to know God and to make Him known on Southeastern’s campus. Each Sunday morning, we enjoy fellowship and breakfast together. Shortly after breaking bread together, we open the scriptures and pray that God’s Holy Spirit would continue to teach us and make us more like Jesus Christ. We are very intentional every week to pray for our church and one another as individuals. We consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, but encouraging one another.
3 goals that we have in mind for our ministry:
* Exhorting college students to served our faith family.
* Seeking to connect students to the older generations of our church.
* Meeting with one another throughout the week.
